Welcome to Preshithamatha School
Preshitha Matha School Mangad, Kollam was started in the year 1990. It is in the district of Kollam in the Southern part of Kerala State. Mangad is surrounded with the famous Ashtamudi Lake in the west. Preshitha Matha is at the shore of this famous and Panoramic Lake. People from different religions and cultural traditions live in this village harmoniously. They are engaged in various jobs both traditional trades as well as professional. Majority of the people work in cashew factories and others are fisher flocks. When the sisters arrived at Mangad it was a very poor area, which is now developing in a fast phase with number of people working abroad to improve their living conditions.

Authentic education implies an on-going, continuous interplay between the five moments of context, experience, reflection, action and evaluation. God has created each of us unique for a purpose here on earth. Hence, it is the duty of every one to work towards that final goal. We need to make use of all the gifts and talents for the common good.
The duty of the educator/mentor is to fine-tune the talents of millennial kids for creativity, innovation, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision- making
Our History
The Congregation of Our Lady of the Missions (RNDM) was founded by Euphrasie Barbier in Lyons in France in 1861 with the sole purpose of proclaiming the values of the Kingdom to all people of good will. At present, the sisters have reached out to 28 countries in the world, and work mainly among the poor, marginalized and the working class people of the area where they are present. After the example of Foundress, the sisters place themselves at God's disposal in order to be the instruments of the Kingdom, Values of Justice, Peace and Communal Harmony.
The sisters strive to proclaim the values of the Kingdom by their way of life, and the needy through various activities such as Formal and Non - formal Education, Health care, Social Action Programmes, Pastoral Care and others.
In all forms of Educational undertakings we recognize the special importance of Schools. Therefore wherever desirable, we establish and maintain schools respecting different cultures, ancestral traditions and artistic expressions of each nation and ethnic group.
